"Argo," NPR's Blog Network

As we all know, there has been a great deal of reorganization in how we all receive the news each day. Since many of us rely solely on online new sources, newspaper productions have significantly decreased and online news media is increasing. With these new trends in mind, NPR and twelve other member stations, have launched their own Blog Network- "Argo."

Argo is a collaborative media journal site designed to target specific areas of interests and topics. Argo promises to bring you the same "quality coverage you expect from your local public radio stations and NPR" while providing an interactive approach to the news. Each of Argo's sites cover very specific topics that relate to what is happening locally; although, each of the topics expand to the national level. One site example, as NPR explains- "The San Francisco area is synonymous with technology. In its MindShift blog, KQED reports on the future of learning and the intersection between technology and education." While it is Argo's goal to be a reliable news source and each of their articles are written by professional journalists, they encourage bloggers to comment on topics, as well as bring in ideas of their own to discuss. It is Argo's hope that since these sites are all organized within a network, they will still be able to provide you with the advantage of covering the news across the nation.
