Reading Tech Insider: 3 Tech Tools for Road Warriors from my Black Enterprise: Small Business RSS feed made me think about EIM. The book spent so much time, in my opinion, criticizing the internet it became painful to continue to read. However, reading this article made me think of all the ways technology is innovating our methods of storing and keeping track of things and information. Computer programs for your car that keep home and work at your finger tips literally. The article introduces a program that will allow you to "tag" your items so you keep track of their exact location. The article also mentions a program that can monitor how green your car is and your usage of the car. These are technologies that propel us forward and minimize issues resulting from an abundance of knowledge. There is no such thing as too much information, the internet forces us to evolve along with other influences in society.
I agree with the most, if not all, of my cohorts. This book could have been 100 pages and that would have been sufficient enough for Weinberger to get his point across. Everything is Miscellaneous was far from enjoyable to read. I felt like I was reading in circles, as the author found new and clever ways to recite the same concepts and information. Funny enough, the book was more cumbersome than the internet.
