Yes it may sound silly to “We the People”, but young Ghanaians may find the advertisement intriguing. In Ghana, the mass of digital information has allowed Ghanaian youth to try on new lifestyles.
Until the Internet, and David Weinberger’s concept of “the new digital disorder,” Ghanaian lifestyles were constricted by location and local custom. The journal article, Crafting Lifestyles in Urban Africa: Young Ghanaians in the World of Online Friendship, takes a closer look at the Internet in Ghana and explores how their online personas are versions of their true selves.
